Rose M. Franceschelli, a lifelong resident of South Scranton died Sunday morning in Saint Mary's Villa Residences after an illness. She was the widow of Frank R. Franceschelli who died December 26, 2003.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Vito and Antoinette "Mary" Turi Monopoli. She was a member of St. John The Evangelist Church, a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, and had been employed by Armour & Company and retired from PNC Bank.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Marie Burke, Moscow; five sons, Deacon John, Moscow, Frank, Moscow, Joseph, Old Forge, Paul, Avoca and James, Moscow; two sisters, Pauline Monopoli, Scranton, Mary Ann Bolinski, Scranton; thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, David James Franceschelli.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint John The Evangelist Church, Pittston Avenue and Fig Street. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
