
William Hunter III

William T. "Will" Hunter, III, 54, a resident of Moscow, died suddenly late Monday evening in the Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia, after a brief illness. He and his wife, the former Patricia Clary, would have celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary October 5.
He was born August 25, 1952 in Montreal Canada, the son of Andrew D. and Nancy J. Trumbo Hunter, Henryville, PA. He was a graduate of Windsor Mountain School, Lennox, MA and attended the New Mexico Highlands University, Las Crues, NM. He was the owner and operator of Scranton Core Company for over 30 years.
Will cherished his wife and daughter who were the center of his world. He and his wife traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe and having had property and a business in the Bahamas, he considered the Carribean his second home and traveled there often with his family. Will enjoying sharing his passion for golf, scuba diving, snorkeling and spear fishing with his daughter Brooke and touring the Islands and indulging in the Island way of life with his wife Patty.
Will’s generous heart and actions led to the rescue and care of numerous homeless dogs over the years. He was always willing to open up his home and care for a dog in search of food and shelter. Outside of his love for animals, his kindness and giving spirit was extended to the numerous friends he made all over the world. Will will be remembered as a man who was always there for a friend in need and he will be greatly missed by his daughter Brooke and his wife Patty. Patty considered him the love of her life. He will be missed by all who knew him and will never be forgotten.
Also surviving is a daughter Brooke Susan Hunter, Moscow; two sisters, Alice Hunter McKenna, M.D. and her husband Mark, Walnut Creek, CA, Nancy Sanderson and her husband Bill, Twichenham, England; a brother, Attorney James Hunter and his wife Attorney Gina Brandt, Los Angeles, CA; an uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother Drew.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 12 noon in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, Scranton. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
