He was born in Lock Haven, the son of the late Gordon W. and Marion Simcox Tannehill. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School Class of 1957 and a graduate of Lackawanna Junior College. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and employed by Rochester Midland Co.

    His charismatic personality, free spirit and laughter will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. He was an avid trout fisherman and enjoyed hunting.

    Surviving are two daughters, Colleen Tannehill, Scranton, Valarie Gavern and her husband Frank, Springbrook; a sister, Carole Costa and her husband Jack, Scranton; a brother, Scott Tannehill and his wife Dorothy, Scranton; a nephew and nieces.

    The funeral and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
