Dorothy A. Dubiac, 86, a resident of South Scranton died Monday morning at home, after an illness. She was the widow of Peter P. Dubiac who died February 13, 1978.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late John and Anna Conway Flynn. A member of St. John The Evangelist Church and a graduate of Saint John the Evangelist High School.
She loved staying at home, playing cards and bingo. She was a kind, gentle loving and devoted mother who always worried about everyone else before herself. She was surrounded by her children at the time of her death. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and knew what a special person she was.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald Dubiac, Scranton, Peter Dubiac Jr., and his wife Mary Ann, Clarks Summit, Raymond Dubiac, Scranton; three daughters, Shirley Marullo, Moosic, Diane Fontana and her husband Paul, Olyphant, Marlene Matiskella, Scranton; a brother, Jack Flynn, Scranton, eleven grandchildren, Ronald Dubiac Jr., Amy Kienzle, Raymond Dubiac Jr., Christine Dubiac, Dawn Kozik, Cherie Dubiac, April Fontana, Amanda Matiskella, Paul Fontana Jr., Robert Matiskella Jr., Nicole Dubiac; nine great-grandchildren, David Ballino, Alexis Kobeski, Miranda Unger, Victoria Kozik, Raymond Dubiac III., Tyler Kozik, Ryan Dubiac, Amelia Kienzle, Piper Kienzle; two sister in laws, Sharon Sienkiewicz and her husband John, Connie Baranowski; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Otto, Mary White; a brother, Paul Dubiac; two brother in laws, Edward Dubiac and Stanley Baranowski; a sister in law, Rose Dubiac.
The funeral will be Saturday 9:30 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Church, at the corner of Pittston Avenue and Fig Street. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
