Paul G. Yeager, 77, a resident of Havelock, NC, formerly of Scranton prior to entering the US Marines, died Wednesday at home after an illness. He and his wife the former Dorothy Shimo celebrated 60 years of marriage in February.
He owned and operated Cardinal Realty in Havelock for over 20 years and was a retired U. S. Marine Corps sergeant major who saw active combat duty in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member and former post commander of VFW Post 7315 in Havelock, VFW Post 7315 MOCPT3, the U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Shooter Association, the Lions Club of Havelock and the Fleet Reserve Association of Havelock.
Also surviving are four daughters, Patricia Goodwin, Oklahoma City, OK, Christine Yeager, Emerald Isle, NC., Kathleen Yeager-Hayden and Paula Yeager both of Havelock, NC; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; two sister in laws, Marge Sawicki and Rita Bega, both of Scranton.
Funeral services were held in Havelock N.C.
