Mildred "Tootsie" Korischar

Mildred "Tootsie" Korischar, 90, a longtime resident of Scranton, died Monday afternoon in the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale. She was the widow of George P. Korischar who died July 18, 1974.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Schreiber Weller. She was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church and the Arthur Murray Golden Dance Club. Prior to retirement she had been self employed in domestic services.
She loved to dance and was a great baker of pie's.
Surviving are a granddaughter, Katrina Galob, Wilkes Barre, a grandson, George M. Korischar, England; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, George Korischar; three brothers, Rollen, Wilbur and Franklin; two sisters, Mildred Barna and Theresa Weller.
The Funeral will be Thursday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, Scranton with Mass at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, 430 River Street, Scranton. Interment Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
