Mabel S. Goodfellow

    Mabel S. Goodfellow, 89, formerly of Scranton, died Saturday afternoon in the Northwest Medical Center, Margate, FL, after a brief illness. Since 2002, she has resided in Branchburg, NJ and Coral Springs, FL where she lived with her daughters. She was the widow of John H. Goodfellow who died October 26, 2001.

    She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late John and Minnie Schellhorn Egen. She was a member of the Myrtle Street United Methodist Church and its Women’s Society. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Prior to retiring she was employed by SJ Aronsohn.

    Surviving are daughters Janice Davenhall and her husband Ronald, Branchburg, NJ, Linda Laquer and her husband Thomas, Coral Springs, FL; a son-in-law James Graff, Dunmore, PA; her grandchildren Jeffrey Davenhall, Jon Davenhall, David Graff, Danielle Laquer and Lindsey Laquer; six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl A. Graff; a brother, George Egen; three sisters, Charlotte Egen Kelly, Minnie Egen and Emma Siglin.

    The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Services by the Reverend Betty J. Reilly, pastor of the Myrtle Street United Methodist Church. Interment Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore.
