Mildred N. Barber Bomersheim, 95, a long time resident of Roaring Brook Township, died Monday evening in the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit, Dunmore, after a brief illness. She was the widow of Joseph W. Bomersheim Sr. who died July 28, 1986.
She was born in Aberdeen, the daughter of the late Fred and Jeanette Connor Barber, attended Moscow High School and was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Scranton. Prior to retirement she had been employed by Rita's Sportswear, Moscow.
Surviving are four daughters, Helen Weaver and her husband Ron, Roaring Brook Township, Milicent Werner and her husband Richard, Roaring Brook Township, Nancy, Madisonville, Judy Wombacker and her husband Robert, Mount Cobb; two sons, Joseph Bomersheim Jr. and his wife Jane, Roaring Brook Township, Harry Bomersheim and his wife Stella, Susquehanna County; twenty-two grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; nieces.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mildred Bomersheim and Mary Hall; a brother, Chet Barber; a sister, Martha Watkins.
The Funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with services by the Reverend Arthur W. Davis Pastor of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, PA.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm and on Thursday 9 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Asbury United Methodist Church, 720 Delaware Street Scranton, PA. 18509-1916.
