Ernest C. Herbinski Sr., 77, a resident of Old Forge, formerly of the Minooka section of Scranton, died Friday evening at home, after an illness. He and his wife the former Rose Marie DiGregorio would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary September 1, 2008.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late John and Josephine Ellard Herbinski. He was a member of Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Greenwood, a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the US Army, a member and Chaplin of the VFW Post 1227, Duryea and the American Legion Williams Post 604, Moosic. He had been employed by the Stipp Construction Company until it's closing and prior to retirement had been employed by the Sproul Construction Company.
Also surviving are a son, Ernest C. Herbinski Jr., Old Forge; a daughter, Lisa Marie Hebel and her husband Glen, Stewartstown; a brother, Walter Herbinski, Pittston; two grandchildren, Haley Hebel and Colin Hebel; several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Herbinski and John T. Herbinski; a sister, Mildred L. Baranowski.
The Funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, Scranton with Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, 3335 Greenwood Avenue, Moosic. Interment, Old Forge Cemetery, Old Forge.
