"Butch" Frable III

Louis D. "Butch" Frable III, 66, a lifelong resident of Elmhurst, died Monday afternoon in the Moses Taylor Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He and his wife the former Betty Wheeler would have celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary on August 1, 2008.
He was born in Maple Lake, February 17, 1942, the son of the late Louis D. and Mary Jane Webb Frable Sr.. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and served his country by enlisting with the US Army. He was a former volunteer of the Elmhurst-Roaring Brook Fire Department and a dedicated employee who had been employed 42 years by Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. He started as a young man and continued on to become Park Superintendent for more than 30 years.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, New England Patriot's and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed spending time with his, sisters, children, grandchildren and pets. He was a gentle kind hearted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. We will all miss him immensely!
Also surviving are a son, Louis D. Frable IV and his wife Teresa, of Hollisterville; two daughters, Joan Frable and her fiancee Daniel Canfield Sr., of Elmhurst, Elizabeth Ephault and her husband Mark, of Springbrook; two sisters, Dian Eaton and her husband Leroy, of Moscow, Eden "Cookie" Smith and her husband Robert, of Moscow; his beloved neighbor, former wife and mother of his children, Joan Frable; twelve grandchildren, a great grandson, nieces, nephews, an aunt and uncle.
He was preceded in death by a brother Robert P. Frable on January 21, 2008.
The Funeral will be Thursday in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc 436 Cedar Avenue. with services at 10 a.m. by the Reverend Arthur W. Davis, Pastor of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow with full military honors in Fairview Memorial Park’s Mausoleum, Elmhurst.
