Rita Scheller

Rita Scheller, 90, died Friday evening in the Wesley Village Skilled Nursing Facility after a brief illness. She had been a longtime resident of Scranton, the widow of Joseph A. Scheller, who died February 17, 1986.
She was born in Allentown, the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Kelly LaMorte. She was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, the Altar and Rosary and the After 50 Club. Prior to retirement she had been employed by the Scranton Dry Goods.
She loved to knit. Especially making booties and sweaters. Her work was extraordinary and she enjoyed giving the finished product to her many friends and family.
Surviving are four grandchildren, Kimberly Korjeski and her husband Bob, Dupont, Debra Wukasch and her husband David, Auburn, WA, John Krueger and his wife Rosalynd, Moscow and Vincent Hartmann, Seale, AL; six great grandchildren, Robert and Alex Korjeski, Dupont, Dana Krueger, Moscow, Kristen Hartmann, GA, Todd Barnes, TX and James Connelly, Moscow; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna R. Krueger and Helen A. Hartmann; two sisters, Rose Scheller and Mary Banks; four brothers, William LaMorte, Michael LaMorte, James R. LaMorte and Robert LaMorte.
The Funeral will be Tuesday from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, . Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 to7 p.m. The family would request that memorial contributions can be made in her memory the donors favorite charity.
