Ann Marie Burrier, 55, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early Saturday morning in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of Ann Marie Schirra Bitler, Scranton and the late Thomas A. Burrier. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, a graduate of West Scranton High School, a member of the Nativity Social Club and prior to retirement was employed by the Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company.
She was an avid softball player and New York Yankees fan.
Surviving is a son, Zane Michael Burrier, Parsippany, NJ, a sister, Lisa Ann Olechna and her husband Robert; two brothers, James P. Burrier, Scranton, Mark Burrier and his wife Kimberly, Thornhurst; a sister in law, Eileen Burrier, Scranton; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother Thomas J. Burrier.
The funeral will be Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Patrick's Church, 1403 Jackson Street, Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
