Ethel L. Miller

Ethel L. Miller, 94, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Monday evening in the Holy Family Residence. She was the widow of Leo J. Miller who died July 20, 1979.

She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Jacob and Emma Mais Barke. She was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church and a member of the Lackawanna County Branch of the PA Association for the Blind. Prior to retirement she had been employed by Scranton Embroidery Company.

Surviving are two daughters, Sister Andrea Miller, member of the daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, Bridgeport, CT, Gertrude L. Melnick-Ohm and her husband Walter, Columbus, OH; two sisters, Lucille Barke, Scranton and Eleanor Bradley, Scranton; seven grandchildren, Sharon Kreigheaum, Father Robert Melnick, OFM, Conv., Stephen Melnick, Michael Melnick, John Melnick, Dr. Paul Marquette, David Marquette; ten great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son Willard J. Miller and two daughters, Frances E. Marquette and Ethel R. Miller; a granddaughter, Sandra Mariotti; a sister, Mildred Terry; three brothers, Paul Barke, Harold Barke, Robert Barke.

The Funeral will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 1 p.m. in St. Mary's of the Assumption Church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Friends may call on Thursday 4 to 8 p.m.
