Kathryn L. Kearney

Kathryn L. "Kay" Kearney, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Thursday evening in the Community Medical Center, after an illness. She is the widow of Lawrence "Bart" Kearney who died January 25, 1996.

She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late William H. and Maude Elizabeth Sloss Stein. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, Scranton.

She was a devoted housewife, mother and grandmother, who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are three daughters, Joyce Linko and her husband George, Scranton, Judith Kearney, Scranton, Lisa Neuls and her husband Jack, Scranton; three sons, Lawrence Kearney, Scranton, Jeffrey S. Kearney and his wife Missy, Daleville, Christopher Kearney, Scranton; a sister Ruth G. Grimes, Scranton; nine grandchildren, Dawn Davies, Stephanie McDonald, Kyle Linko, Justin Linko, Brenda Vaughn, David Kearney, Nichole Naughton, Erica Kearney, Krystal McLain; five great grandchildren, Zachary McDonald, KyleeRae Davies, Ariyana Linko, Nathan McDonald, Jerry Davies, Jr.; nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services and interment in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, will be held privately. Services will be by the Reverend Ginger Daubenhauser, interim pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Friends may call on Sunday 5 to 8 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue. In lieu of flowers should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation in her memory to the Trinity Baptist Church, 1546 Monsey Avenue, Scranton PA 18509-2327 or to the American Diabetes Association, 65 East Elizabeth Ave, Suite 502, Bethlehem PA 18018-6518.
