Audrey Stella Evans Price, 84, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died
Friday afternoon in the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit, Dunmore, after a
brief illness. She was the widow of
Thomas Price who died April 15, 1955.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late George and Stella
Morlang Evans. She was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, Class of
1942. Prior to retirement she had been employed by Harper Collins Publishers for
34 years.
She was devoted to her family and friends.
Surviving is a son, Thomas Price and his wife Cyndie, Dunmore; a
granddaughter, Rachael Price, Scranton; a grandson, Randall Price, Scranton; a
brother, Rev. George I. Evans, Cornwall; other family members include, Elaine
Donly, Scranton, Jerry Salmon and his wife Kathy,
Sheila Bagnick, Jerry Salmon, John Salmon and their families all of
Binghamton, NY; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a great grandson Evan Fitz Schultz-Price and
a brother Rev. Paul Evans.
A private celebration of her life will be held on Friday November 7th.
There will be no public calling hours. As per Audrey’s wishes her final gift to
others was to donate her body to the Humanity Gifts Registry of Pennsylvania for
medical research.
