Joseph M. Roscioli

        Joseph Mark Roscioli, 80, a resident of Moosic, died peacefully early Saturday morning in Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit, Dunmore. His wife is the former L. Marie Neuls. The couple celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on July 15th.

        Born in Scranton, the son of the late Luigi and Angelina Zarzana Roscioli, he was a member of Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, Greenwood and was educated in the Scranton schools. He was an avid baker by trade and prior to his retirement, he and his brother, John owned and operated Roscioli’s Bakery, Scranton.

His pride, humility and sense of humor often shielded his quiet intelligence, but readily gave way to his sense of honor and complete devotion to his family. Ever patient and respectful, he was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He was a loving and devoted husband who was very proud of the accomplishments of his children.

        Also surviving are two sons, Mark Joseph and wife, Debra of Philadelphia; Joseph and wife, Karen of Roaringbrook Twp.; three daughters, Mary Ann Lucarine of Throop; Louise Roscioli of Roaringbrook Twp.; Diane Fazen and husband Michael of Springbrook Twp.; a brother, Louis R. Roscioli and wife Winifred of Pittston Township; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

        He was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and John; and two sisters, Louise Ruddis and Frances Ogg.

        The funeral will be Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, 3335 Greenwood Avenue, Moosic. Interment, Italian American Cemetery, Scranton.
