Patsy Comandy

        Patsy Comandy, 86, a resident of Moosic for the past seven years, a former longtime resident of South Scranton, died early Saturday evening at home.  His wife the former Teresa A. Streznetski died August 31, 2008.

         He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Raephel and Rose Gallo Comandy.  He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, South Scranton and served in the U.S. Marines during W.W. II.  Prior to retirement he had been employed by Philip Monsky Scrap Yard and was self employed for many years as a refuse hauler.

         He was an avid fisherman and bowler; he bowled with the Serviceman’s League.

         Surviving is a daughter, Sandy Walsh and her husband Paul M., Moosic; a son, Gary Comandy Sr., and his wife Judianne, Olyphant; two sisters, Stella Patrick, Scranton and Dolores Evans, Scranton; several grandchildren, a great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.

          He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Davis and Viola Rooney.

         The Funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, at the corner of Pittston Avenue and Fig Street.  Interment will be private.

        Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, 65 East Elizabeth Avenue, Suite 502, Bethlehem PA 18018-6518.
