Philomena Summa

Philomena Summa, 92, a resident of Dunmore for most of her life, died
early Tuesday morning in the Mercy Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit.
She was the widow of John Summa who died
in 1977.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Michael and Maria
Pagnotti Gumbaro. She attended Scranton
Public Schools and was a member of St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Church, Dunmore.
The family would like to express its thanks and appreciation to Dr.
Douglas Klamp and staff, the staff at the Jewish Home of Eastern PA and The
Mercy Hospice Inpatient Unit for their kindness and loving care.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Sansky and her husband George, Dunmore; a
grandson, Christopher, Dunmore; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Frances M. Snyder.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 9:30 in Saint Mary’s of
Mount Carmel, 322 Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment,
Parish Cemetery, Dunmore.
