William D. Camp, 84, a resident of Carbondale, a former longtime resident
of Scranton, died Friday morning in the Mercy Hospice Inpatient after an
illness. His wife the former Evelyn Jane
Phillips died May 26, 2000.
He was born in Moosic, the son of the late Wellington Lee and Jennie
Griffiths Camp. He was a member of
the Clifford United Methodist Church and was extremely proud of serving in the
USMC during WW II. He was an active
choir member, a member of the Free & Accepted Masons and Irem Temple Chanter.
Prior to retirement he had been employed by the Tobyhanna Army Depot as a
draftsman.
He was a good and loving father, father in law, brother and uncle.
He enjoyed listening to old time radio; being a ham radio operator and
woodworking. He attended the Murray Art
School to pursue his interest in art. He
loved all animals and especially his dog Dusty, his daughter and son in law’s
dog Goldie.
Surviving are a daughter, Debra Jennings and her husband Dale, Village of
Dundaff; a sister, Betsy Psolka, Pittston; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Robert L. Camp and Wellington
Lee Camp Jr.; a sister, Helen Elizabeth Thomas.
