Laura E. McGuire, 90, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early Monday
morning in the Mercy Inpatient Hospice Unit after a brief illness.
She was the Widow of Frank J. McGuire who died December 15, 2007.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Orran and Catherine
Sillner Tucker. She was a graduate of
Scranton Technical High School and a member of Nativity of Our Lord Church.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are two daughters, Dianne Ballino and her husband Eugene,
Scranton, Eileen Bohn and her husband John, Scranton; four grandchildren,
Deborah Bohn, Thomas J. Bohn and his wife Tiffany, David Ballino and his wife
Rebecca, and Eugene Ballino, all of Scranton; five great grandchildren, David
Ballino Jr., Elliott Ballino, Alec Bohn, Aidan Bohn and Addison Bohn all of
Scranton; 1 great great granddaughter, Lily Ballino, Scranton; nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother Paul Tucker who was killed while
serving with the military during WW II.
The funeral will be Thursday in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436
Cedar Avenue, with a Blessing Service at 10 a.m. by the Reverend Michael Bryant,
pastor of Nativity of Our Lord Church.
Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
