Richard C. Bazur, 64, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Wednesday
evening in the Moses Taylor Hospital after an illness.
His wife is the former Nancy Greco.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Stella Kucz Bazur and a
graduate of West Scranton High School. He was a member of the USMC,
serving during the Vietnam War and after serving as a Marine was a reservist
with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He
was a member of the 20th Ward Social Club, the Nativity Social Club,
the American Ukrainian Veterans Association, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a great outdoorsman and loved hunting, trapping and fishing,
especially trout fishing.
Also surviving are four daughters, Lisa Bazur, Lori Bazur, Carolyn
Collins and Cynthia Bazur, all of Scranton; two brothers, his twin Robert Bazur
and his wife Janet, Scranton, Steve Bazur, Clarks Summit; ten grandchildren,
nieces, great nieces and great nephews; his dog and companion Buffy.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 8 p.m. in the Miller Bean
Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue. The
interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
