
Ruth E. Paterson

Ruth E. Paterson, 93, a resident of Effort for the past 25 years, a
former resident of Connecticut for 39 years and prior to that a resident of
Scranton, died early Saturday morning in the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home,
Stroudsburg after a brief illness. She
was the widow of David W. Paterson Sr. who died July 1, 2004.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late C. Harold and Mary
Schild Hafner and a graduate of Scranton Technical High School.
Surviving is a son, David W. Paterson Jr., Effort; a sister, Caroline B.
Hartman and her husband Wesley, Scranton; two grandchildren, Vanessa Hamilton,
Columbus, OH, Stephanie Miller, Chicago, IL, three great grandchildren, several
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Berger and a sister Muriel
Lydia Hartman.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home,
Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Services by the Reverend Tom H. Collins, pastor of
the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church. Interment
will be in the Dalton Shoemaker Cemetery, Dalton
