
Fred Swaha

Fred Swaha, 82, a lifelong resident of Scranton died Tuesday evening in
the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa after a long illness.
He was the widower of Arlene Detrick who
died August 20, 1986.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Michael and Alexandria
Widcola Swaha. Prior to retirement he had
been employed by RCA.
He was a loving father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and will be
extremely missed by his family. He
loved fishing, gardening and the outdoors in general.
Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Goscinski, Scranton and Sharon
Johnson, Scranton; two sons; Fred Swaha Jr., Scranton, Robert Swaha, Jessup;
three brothers, Frank Swaha, Scranton, Michael Swaha, Montdale, Nicholas Swaha,
Scranton; five sisters, Kathryn Price, Rose Posniak, Stella Owens, Mary Klepalto
and Elenor Hollingworth all of Scranton; grandchildren, great grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, James “Jimmy” Swaha who died March 18,
1977 and a brother Alex Swaha.
The funeral will be Monday in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436
Cedar Avenue with services at 11 a.m., by the Reverend Arthur W. Davis.
Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
