Mary Kilvitis

Mary Kilvitis, a longtime resident of Scranton, died Thursday morning at
home. She was the widow of Jacob “Jake”
Kilvitis Sr., who died, February 17, 1996.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Ignazio and Anna
Zarzana Bufano.
She had a great love for her family and will always be in their hearts.
Surviving is a son, Jake Kilvitis Jr., Scranton; three daughters, Ann
Marie Hammond and her fiancé Rowland Lucke, Scranton, Patricia Gilmartin and her
husband Joseph, VA, Joan Whetstone and her fiancé Robert Magnotta, Scranton; a
sister, Teresa Young, Scranton; six grandchildren, Michael Schmidt and his wife
Jennifer, Joseph Schmidt and his wife Sandy, Lisa Kravitz and her husband John,
William Kilvitis and his fiancé Susan Christiano, Dana Hammond, Justin
Gilmartin; a granddaughter in law, Elizabeth Whetstone; fifteen great
grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Carter; a grandson, Wade
Whetstone; a sister, Frances Choby; two brothers, Joseph Bufano and
Martin Bufano.
A blessing service will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Miller Bean Funeral
Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue. Interment
will be in the Italian American Cemetery, Scranton.
