Loretta E. Fisher

Loretta E. Fisher, a long time resident of the East Mountain section of
Scranton, died late Thursday evening in the Moses Taylor Skilled Nursing
Facility after a brief illness. She
was the widow of Edward Damascus Fisher who died March 18, 2009.
September 16th, 2009 would have been their 59th
wedding anniversary.
She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Laura Shanoski Unsworth and a member
of Holy Name of Jesus Church on the East Mountain.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who
cherished the time she spent with her family.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Moses Taylor Skilled
Nursing Unit for the outstanding care, love and compassion given to Loretta and
her entire family.
Surviving are a son, Jeffrey T. Fisher and his wife Charmaine H., Chesapeake,
VA; a daughter, Laura M. Fisch and her husband Daniel R., Scranton; eight
grandchildren, Jessica Fisher, Jeffrey Fisher Jr., Joslyn Fisch, Madelyn Fisch,
Abigail Fisch, Rachel Fisher, Lorraine Fisher, Jason Fisher; a sister, Frances
Krayer, Scranton; nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ralph E. Fisher; two sisters Leona Longo and
Alice August.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc.,
436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 9:30 am in the Holy Name of Jesus Church, on the
corner of East Elm Street and Froude Avenue, East Mountain. Interment will be
held in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
