Betty R. Ammenhauser, 62, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early
Thursday morning at home of natural causes.
She was born in Scranton the daughter of the late, Edward and Olga
Sovinsky Mauroschadt and a member of St. Matthews United Evangelical Lutheran
Church. She was a graduate of Scranton
Technical High School, Lackawanna County Junior College and prior to retirement
had been employed by the Giant Market and the Women’s Resource Center.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend; a kind and outgoing
person who would do anything for anyone in need.
She was dearly loved by all who knew her, and will be missed by all who
knew her.
Surviving is her fiancé Christopher Woytas, Scranton; four daughters,
Deanna Payton, Mechanicsville, MD, Lisa Jezorwski, Scranton, Kimberly Balish and
her husband Doug, Springbrook Township, Krista Ammenhauser, Pittston Township;
eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, aunts and uncles.
Cremation Services were held at Maple Hill Crematory, Hanover Township.
A Memorial Service will be held on
Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. in St. Matthews United Evangelical Lutheran
Church, 425 Jefferson Avenue, by the Reverend Lester C. Stephenson, Pastor.
