
Grace M. Newhart

Grace M. Newhart, 90, a former resident of New York who moved back to
Scranton in 1993, died Monday afternoon in the Allied Services Skilled Nursing
Center. She was the widow of Floyd P.
Newhart who died in 1993.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella
Rhodes Carroll. She was a member of
the South Scranton Senior Center and prior to retirement she had been employed
by a pharmacy in Buffalo, NY for 25 years.
She enjoyed reading and crocheting.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart and Allied
Skilled Nursing staff for their exceptional care given to Grace over the past
year.
Surviving are a sister, Theresa A. Judge, Dunmore; a step son, Floyd P.
Newhart Jr., and his wife Linda, Meshoppen; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph “Bud” Carroll; two
sisters, Dorothy M. Kelly and Ruth A. Cassidy, her “side kick”
There will be no public calling hours. Funeral
services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
