
John J. Fisch

John J. Fisch, 84, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early Saturday
morning in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Mercy Hospice.
He was the widow of Ann M. Cavanaugh who
died October 29, 2004.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late John W. and Lena Philipp Fisch. He was a member of the Nativity of Our Lord Church and graduated from Scranton Technical High School. He had been employed as a traffic manager for Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company and prior to retirement he worked for Gould Battery and was a courier for Clinical Labs.
He was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his
grandchildren and attending their activities, he was affectionately known as “GG
Pop”.
Surviving are three daughters, Susan McCrea and her husband Michael,
Scranton, Lori Scarnato and her husband Greg, Scranton, Tricia Kmiec and her
husband Carl, Scranton; two sons, Jay Fisch and his friend Linda Bliss, Eugene,
OR, Thomas Fisch and his fiancé Nancy VanDyne, East Stroudsburg; a brother,
Donald Fisch and his wife Kitty, Scranton; fifteen grandchildren, Sara Kawka,
Rebecca Waslin, Sean McCrea, Aislen McCrea, Heidi Fisch, Dana Fisch, Lindsay
Fisch, Meghan Fisch, Tom Fisch, Jason Scarnato, Jessica Scarnato, Amber
Scarnato, Elizabeth Kmiec, Nicole Kmiec, Anna Kmiec; eight great grandchildren,
Joseph Waslin, Aiden Waslin, Jenna Waslin, John Kawka, James McCrea, Jason
McCrea, Aden McCrea and Nevaeh Tucker; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Migliorino and Clare
Pantle.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral
Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Nativity of Our Lord
Church, 633 Orchard Street. Entombment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
