Michael R. Howarth, 30, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early
Friday morning in the Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown after a brief
illness.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late E. Michael Howarth and the
late Hilda Jennie Yaeger Howarth, stepson of Debbie A. Howarth Mannix, MA.
He was a 1998 graduate of Scranton high
school, and was currently attending Lackawanna College.
He had a big heart and all who knew him loved him.
He passed away surrounded by his family.
A special thank you to his friend Sara Stamford for bringing joy and
happiness into his life over the past few months.
He recently traveled to San Francisco CA for the first time to visit
cousins and he had an enjoyable time. He
was an avid Yankees fan.
Also surviving, a maternal grandmother, Helen Flowers Yaeger, Scranton; a
sister, Melanie Howarth, Scranton; two stepsisters, Mellissa Reynolds, AR,
Shannon White, TN; nine aunts Doreen
Barrese, Scranton, Eileen Day, Mount Cobb , Barbara D’Oria, FL, Diane Tansits,
Scranton, JoAnn Conte, Scranton, Cathy Yaeger, Scranton, Elsa Nelson, Scranton,
Carlene Coombes, Scranton, Patricia Shea, Scranton; an uncle, Leo Yaeger,
Scranton; nieces, nephews and cousins in Scranton and California.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an uncle, Hugo
Yaeger, maternal grandfather, Hugo Yaeger, paternal grandfather, Robert Howarth,
paternal grandmother, Beverly Howarth and paternal step grandmother, Norma
Hofmeister Howarth.
The funeral will be on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral
Home, Inc., with Mass at 9.30 a.m. in Saint Peter’s Cathedral, 315 Wyoming
Avenue, Scranton. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
