Theodore I. Mead, 73, a resident of Moosic for the past fourteen years,
died Wednesday morning in the VNA Inpatient Unit at the Community Medical
Center. He and his wife the former Jean
M. Jordan would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on
March 4, 2010.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Raymond and Anna Fisch Mead
and attended Scranton Public Schools. He
was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Army and a member of the
American Legion Post #568. Prior to
retirement he had been employed as a maintenance man for several hotels and
apartments throughout the country.
He was an avid race car fan and got his checkered flag on his own terms.
Also surviving are a son Theodore R. Mead and his wife Amy, NC; a sister,
Betty Ann Clark and her husband Brenton, Moosic; three grandchildren, Aaron,
Corey and Cara all of NC; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Marie Mead; three sisters,
June M. Webb, Julia Iva Mead, Marcella McLaud; three brothers, Charles D. Mead,
Robert W. Mead and Raymond Mead Jr.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday in the Miller Bean Funeral
Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue at 10:30 am, by Rev. Arden Hollister.
Interment will be private in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
