James P. Hollow

        James P. Hollow, 76, a longtime resident of Moosic, died Friday afternoon in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Mercy Hospital.  His wife of 15 years is the former Eileen Ulrich Walsh.  His first wife the former Rosalyn M. Olhowski died April 28, 1994.

        He was born and raised in Scranton, the son of the late Edwin J. and Jane Hartman Hollow.  He attended Scranton Technical High School and graduated from Clarks Summit Abington Joint High School.  He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Army.  Prior to retirement he was owner and proprietor of the Blarney Stone Bar, Scranton.

        Also surviving are two daughters, Michele M. Walsh, Dickson City, Karen Yatzun and her husband Michael, Taylor; three sisters, Barbara Sompel, Moosic, Shirley Hollow, Scranton, Janice Minet, Moosic; three brothers, Edward Hollow, Spokane, WA, Charles Hollow, CT, John Hollow, Moosic; four grandchildren, James Walsh, Dickson City, Korrine Walsh, Dickson City, Matthew Yatzun, Taylor and Erica Yatzun, Taylor; a great grandson, James Brux; many nieces and nephews.

        He was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Sompel.

        Mass will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann’s Basilica, 1250 Saint Ann’s Street, Scranton.  Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.  Those attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church.

        There will be no public calling hours.
