Viola E. Pillot

Viola E. Pillot, 100, a long time resident of Scranton, died early
Tuesday morning the Abington Manor Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born, June 24, 1909. and raised in Scranton, the daughter of the
late Dominick John and Anna Chiperlo Pillot. She
was a member of Elm Park United Methodist Church, a graduate of Scranton Central
High School and the Syracuse University School of Nursing.
She was a member of the Syracuse
University Alumni Association, Syracuse University Nursing Alumni Association,
Huntington Retired Teachers Association and the Everhart Museum.
Prior to her retirement she taught
classes for the Huntington New York Public School System and also held the
position of school nurse.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Pillot and Adeline Pillot.
Funeral and Committal Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the
Miller Bean Funeral Home, 436 Cedar Avenue, by the Rev. Virginia E. O’Malley,
Pastor of Elm Park United Methodist Church. Interment
will be private in Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Township.
