Donald F. Brady

        Donald F. Brady, 76, a lifelong resident of South Scranton died Friday morning at the Mercy Hospital.  He and his wife, the former Mildred Burrier would have celebrated their 53rd anniversary on May 4th.

        He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Frank and Clara Bauman Brady, also a stepson of the late Irene Bauman Brady.  He was a lifelong member of the Nativity of Our Lord Church, a graduate of Scranton Central High School, Class of 1953 and a graduate of the Johnson School of Technology.  He served two years in the US Army, stationed in Germany and Austria.  He was a twenty-five year employee at Superior Millwork and was a proud member of the Carpenter's Local Union 14 out of Wilkes Barre.  He retired from Valley Millwork of West Wyoming and then worked part time at the Century Club.

        He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose days were brightened by his six grandchildren.  He enjoyed teaching them to fish, taking walks and playing games.  He loved nature, travel and country music.

        His family would like to thank Dr. Cognetti and his staff for their compassionate care; and the nurses and therapists in the Skilled Nursing Unit at the Mercy Hospital.

        Surviving are two daughters, Dawn Eiden and husband Barry, Moosic; Denise DePietro and husband, Paul, Scranton; six grandchildren, Barry and Samantha Eiden, Moosic; Sofia, Greta, Oscar and Luca DePietro, Scranton; two brothers F. Robert Brady and wife Joan, Scranton and John F. Brady and wife Eileen, Moscow; nieces, nephews and cousins.

        He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lydia DePietro.

        The funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Nativity of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard Street.  Interment, St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Covington Township.  Those attending the funeral Mass are asked to go directly to the church.

        Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue.

        The family request that memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the March of Dimes, Northeast Division, 1255 S Cedar Crest Blvd Ste 2500, Allentown, PA 18103-6240.
