Kevin W. Parker, Sr., 60, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Saturday
afternoon in the Community Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Calvin and Loretta Martin
Parker. He was a graduate of Scranton
Technical High School Class of 1968, a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church and a
veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War.
He had retired in September 2009 from
General Dynamics after 35 years of service.
He loved his grandchildren. He was
an active golfer, Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also enjoyed to travel.
Surviving are a son Kevin W. Parker, Jr., and his wife Doreen, Fort Knox,
Kentucky; a daughter, Lisa M. Jackson and her husband Kirk, Biloxi, Mississippi;
a brother, Timothy C. Parker, Houston, Texas; five sisters, Jeananne C. Parker,
Scranton, Doreen L. Parker Franklin, Scranton, Tracey E. Parker
Cunningham, Houston, Texas, Sharon L. Parker Pate, Scranton, Kerry Susan Parker
Byrd, Scranton; six grandchildren Decorey Richard, Kateshi Richard, Kaliyah
Parker, Keondre Parker, Emmaily Holloway, Trier Holloway; a great grandson,
Jayden Holloway; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends
He was preceded by a brother, Spencer Parker.
The funeral will be Thursday with Services at 11 a.m. in the Bethel
A.M.E. Church, 714 North Washington Avenue, Scranton, by Rev. Benjamin Morrison,
Pastor. Interment will follow in the
Forest Hill Cemetery, Dunmore.
