Stella R. Konarkowski Kerwin, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early
Saturday morning in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at the Mercy Hospital.
She was the widow of John P. Kerwin who
died July 17, 1991.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Jacob and Josephine
Sadowski Konarkowski. She was
educated in Scranton public schools, a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary
Church, South Scranton and the Red Hat Society at the Saint Mary’s Villa
Residence. Prior to retirement she had
been employed by the Sauquoit Silk Mill.
Surviving is a brother, Joseph, Bellville, NJ; many nieces, nephews,
great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Stanley; two sisters,
Helen Kakareka and Ann Konarkowski.
The funeral will be Tuesday with mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus
and Mary Church, 1217 Prospect Avenue, by her nephew the Reverend Michael J.
Kirwin, pastor of the Church of Saint Maria Goretti, Laflin.
Interment will be private in the parish
cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday
from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Church
