Dora M. Reid, 70, a lifelong resident of Moosic died at home on Wednesday
night after an illness. She was the
widow of Albert C. Reid Sr. who died March 18, 1994.
She was born in Moosic; the daughter of the late Joseph Daniel and Thelma
Simonson Tinklepaugh Sr. She attended
Moosic High School and was a member of the Moosic United Methodist Church.
She was one of the founding members of
the Greenwood Hose Company NO. 1 Ladies Auxiliary, where she served in numerous
positions over the past 54 years. She was
a devoted volunteer for the Moosic Red Wings girl’s softball team.
She had been employed as a nurse’s aide caring for terminally ill
children and retired from the Parodi Cigar Co.
Our angel on earth has now gone to heaven; she was loved in life and will
be sadly missed in death. She was a
loving mother and grandmother, in addition to her family she was loved by many
and known as mom or Grand mom. She was an
avid Penn State football fan.
Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Ferguson and her husband John J.
Ferguson Sr., Moosic; a son, Frank L. Reid and his wife Marci, Moosic; five
grandchildren, Jessica Thelma Ferguson, John J. Ferguson Jr., David Joseph Reid,
Gavin Charles Reid and Amy Ferguson, all of Moosic.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph D. Tinklepaugh and an
infant son.
The funeral will be on Sunday services at 7 p.m. in the Miller Bean
Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue.
The interment will be private in the Marcy Cemetery, Duryea at the
convenience of the family.
