Marilyn Hamilton, 80, a resident of Lake Ariel, formerly of Cedar Grove,
NJ, died Thursday evening in the Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late George and Adelaide
Miller Jockel. She was a graduate of
Bloomfield High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from
Panzer College, Montclair, NJ. She was a
member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon.
She was active in the Hideout Golf
Association, Bowling League, Art Club and the Legends Performing Group.
Prior to retirement she was employed as a
claims adjuster for CNA Insurance in New Jersey.
She enjoyed all sports and was an avid golfer.
Surviving are her children, Mark Traphagen and his wife Karyn, Durham,
NC, Leigh R. Hamilton and his wife Laura, Little Falls, NJ,
Joyce L. Cimera and her husband Glenn, Colorado Springs, CO, Dale S.
Hamilton and his wife Sue, Scranton; eight grandchildren, six great
grandchildren and her dog Shotzie.
Cremation Services were held at the Maple Hill Crematory, Hanover
Township. A memorial service to celebrate
her life will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the Hickory Street Presbyterian
Church, 435 Hickory Street, by the Reverend Tom H. Collins.
There will be no public viewing hours.
