Norman L. Hicks Jr., 37, a resident of Dunmore, formerly of Moscow, died
Monday, at work.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Nancy Capooci Hicks.
He was a graduate of North Pocono High
School Class of 1993, a member of the BMWE (Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way
Employees) and local chairman of Chapter 2907. He
was employed by the New Jersey Transit Authority.
He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he knew.
He loved life and enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting; and going
to the casino.
Surviving are a brother, John D. Hicks and his wife Joann, Scranton; two
sisters, Cindy Hicks, Taylor and her fiancé, Tony Show, Old Forge; Flo Hicks,
Scott Township and her fiancé John C. Keen, Scott Township; he was known to many
as uncle Norm and had a special relationship with his nieces and nephews,
Jessica, Brittany, Lindsey, Lauren, Joe and Chris; aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Michael and
Dorothy Amey Capooci; aunts and uncles.
The viewing will be on Saturday from 4 to 9 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral
Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, Scranton. Private Cremation
Services will take place at the Maple Hill Crematory.
The inurnment of his cremains will be in Saint Catherine’s Cemetery at a day and time
to be announced.
