Alfred Leo Benjamin, a resident of Springbrook Township, died early
Wednesday morning in the Dunmore Health Care Center, Dunmore after an illness.
He was the widow of Juanita R. Baker who
died August 24, 1995.
He was born in Moscow, the son of the late Wesley and Rebecca Wescott
Benjamin. He was a member of the Moosic
Assembly of God Church; he worked for Marquardt Trucking, Tony Fick Trucking and
retired after 20 years from Goex Powder Mill.
He was an avid gardener who enjoyed hunting, fishing and his Saturday
adventures riding around in the country with Harry Dutter.
Surviving are a son, David A. Benjamin and his wife Deborah, South
Abington Township, three daughters, Claudia Seaman and her husband William, Old
Forge, Bonnie Mazzola and her husband Charles, Moscow, Veronica Davis and her
husband Michael, Millersburg; two sisters, Marion Quick, Thornhurst, Rachel
Kania, Springbrook, Township; eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Benjamin and a sister
Henrietta Flowers.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home,
Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue with services by the Reverend David O’Brien, pastor of
the Moosic Assembly of God Church. Interment
will follow in the Moscow Cemetery, Moscow.
