Carl A. Holzman Sr.

        Carl A. Holzman Sr., a lifelong resident of Scranton, died early Wednesday morning in the Hospice Community Care, Dunmore, after a brief illness.  He and his wife Lenora Faye Holzman would have celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary on December 22, 2010.

        He was born on December 22, 1948 in Scranton the son of the late Victor and Adella Boyousky Holzman.  He was employed by Preferred Meals System Inc. and had previously been employed by Terry’s Diner, Moosic.

        He was loved by his family and friends.  He was a kind hearted person who would help anyone and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  He was looking forward to his retirement to be able to travel, hunt and fish.

        Also surviving are two sons Carl Holzman Jr. and his wife Robin, Carbondale, Kevin Holzman, Simpson; two grandchildren, Carl J. Holzman III and Kevin A. Holzman; two brothers, David Holzman and his wife Mary Ann, Moscow, Ronnie Holzman and his wife Joan, Jermyn; a sister, Victoria Luzzi and her husband James, CA; many nieces and nephews.

        He was preceded in death by two sons, Christopher Holzman and Brian Holzman; a sister, Loretta Cuzzo and a brother, Victor Holzman.

        The funeral will be Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with services by the Reverend Arthur W. Davis, pastor of the Asbury United Methodist Church.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

        Friends may call on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m.
