Evelyn “Chic” Conrad, 86, a life longtime resident of the East Mountain
section of Scranton, died Saturday afternoon at home.
She was the widow of Gerald W. Conrad who
died November 17, 1999.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Francis and Anna
Sopack Czekalski. She was a graduate of
Scranton Technical High School and a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church,
Saint John Neumann Parish. She was a
member of the Moses Taylor auxiliary, a volunteer at the Moses Taylor Hospital
and for Meals on Wheels. Prior to
retirement she had been employed by Casual Sportswear as a supervisor.
She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who
will be missed by all. She especially
enjoyed all her dinners at her daughters house surrounded by her grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Nape and her husband Charles,
Scranton, Geraldine Andrejack and her husband Thomas, Scranton; six
grandchildren, Leah Foley and her husband Martin, LaCanada, CA, Marna Spiotta
and her husband Christian, NY, NY, Charles Nape Jr., and his fiancé Kristin
Riley, Scranton, Kara Dale, Scranton, T.J. Andrejack and his wife Chris,
Nanticoke, Mark Andrejack and his wife Heather, Scranton; eighteen great
grandchildren; a sister, Florence Posten, Scranton; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Conrad Wonders; brothers
and sisters.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home
Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 9:30 a.m.in the Holy Name of Jesus Church,
at the corner of East Elm Street and Froude Avenue.
Interment will follow in Fairview
Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
