Merle Mildred Cron, 68, a resident of Scranton died from a stroke on
Monday, September 13th while vacationing in Daytona Beach, FL.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Henry and Clara Ott.
She was a member of the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church and a graduate
of Scranton Technical High School, Class of 1960.
She was self-employed as a notary public and was looking forward to her
trip to Washington State in December to meet her newest great granddaughter.
Surviving are one son, Arthur and wife Betty, Holly Hill, FL; one
daughter, Debra, Scranton; three grandchildren, Brian Black, Arthur and his
fiancé Chandelle and Megan; great-granddaughters; Kylie and Sage (on the way);
one sister, Grace Burke, Scranton; nieces, nephews and cousins; her companion,
Lewis Armstrong.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband
Arthur Richard Cron, and a sister Joan Fedor.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 12th at
4:30 p.m. in the Hickory Street Presbyterian Church, 435 Hickory Street, by
Reverend Tom H. Collins, Pastor.
