
Rosamond G. Dougherty

Rosamond G. Dougherty, 89, a resident of Scranton, died early Tuesday
morning in the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania after a lengthy illness.
She was the widow of Thomas J. Dougherty who died July 31, 1986.
She was born and raised in Scranton, the daughter of the late Edward and
Mary Krauss Altman. She was a
devoted member of the former Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, now Saint John
Neumann Parish and a graduate of Scranton Technical High School.
She had moved to New Jersey for employment, working for Singer and the
International Telephone and Telegraph Corp., she then married and raised her
family returning to Scranton after her husband’s death.
She enjoyed family gatherings and dinner with friends.
Surviving are a son, James Dougherty and his wife Theresa, Washington,
NJ; a grandson, Thomas Dougherty, Washington, NJ; a granddaughter, Maria Grausso
and her husband Sal, White House, NJ; two great grandchildren, Sophia Grausso
and Nikolas Grausso; a sister, Ann Acculto and her husband Joseph, Scranton; a
brother, John Altman, Schenectady, NY; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great
nephews.
The Funeral will be held on Thursday with Mass of Christian Burial at
10:30 a.m. in the Nativity of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard Street.
Interment will be held on Friday in the
Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ.
