Evelyn G. D’Agostino, 82, a resident of Scranton, died Monday morning in
the Moses Taylor Hospital. She was the
widow of Americo “Rex” D’Agostino who died March 4, 1986.
She was born on October 1, 1928 in Scranton, the daughter of the late
Robert and Carolyn Puhl Schommer.
She was in the last graduating class from St. Mary of the Assumption High
School, a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Young Adults of Saint
Paul of the Cross. She was a member
of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Major Edward J. Poch Post
948 Ladies Auxiliary.
Evelyn was a wonderful mother, gram and great grandmother who gave her
all to her family, especially on holidays and birthdays.
She was surrounded by her family at the
time of her passing. She enjoyed roller
skating, playing cards, Atlantic City and spending time with the gang.
Surviving are two sons, Nicholas D’Agostino and his wife Wendy, Sterling,
Joseph D’Agostino and his wife Deborah, Scranton; a stepdaughter, Rosemary
Eavarone and her husband Anthony, Scranton; seven grandchildren, Rodney
D’Agostino, Danielle D’Agostino, Michael D’Agostino, Joseph D’Agostino, Terilynn
D’Agostino, Judy Eavarone and Anthony Eavarone; two great grandchildren, Xavier
D’Agostino, Keira D’Agostino; three sisters, Carol Feola, Alice Kane and Rita
Cutro; nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert D’Agostino and a brother
Robert Schommer.
The funeral will be Thursday at 8:30 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral
Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in the
Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Avenue, Scranton.
Interment will follow in Fairview
Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
