Nicholas J. Schuh, 91, a resident of Scranton died Friday evening in the
Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit, Dunmore.
His wife of 57 years, the former Mildred Hahn died January 1, 2002.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late John J. and Lena Graff
Schuh. He was educated in Saint Mary
of the Assumption School and was a lifelong member of the former Saint Mary of
the Assumption Church. He was a veteran
of World War II serving with the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Walt Whitman for
which he was most proud; stationed in the Pacific, he took part in five major
battles. Prior to retirement he was
manager of the Frigid Warehouse, a division of Land O’Lakes.
He was an avid Phillies fan, he loved to cook and knew how to enjoy life.
His sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Craig and her husband Ray, Scranton; two
grandchildren Christopher Craig and Melissa Craig; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Schuh; five brothers, John,
Joseph, Frank, Fred and Edward; two sisters, Mary Cummings and Madeline
Radsvillas.
