Frances H. Krayer R.N., 82, a long time resident of the East Mountain
section of Scranton, died Monday evening in the Linwood Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center, formerly the Mountain Rest Nursing Home.
She and her husband Charles Krayer would have celebrated 61 years of
marriage this February 18th.
She was born in Kingston the daughter of the late Ralph and Laura
Shanoski Unsworth. She was a member of
Holy Name of Jesus Church, Saint John Neumann Parish.
She graduated from Scranton Central High
School and was a graduate of Moses Taylor Hospital School of Nursing Class of
1948. Upon graduating from nursing school
she worked at the Moses Taylor Hospital; after starting a family she continued
to work as a private duty nurse, until retirement.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and
friend who enjoyed gardening and loved animals.
The family would like to thank the staff at Linwood Nursing and
Rehabilitation center for their kind and compassionate care.
Surviving are three sons, Charles Krayer, Jr., Scranton, David F. Krayer,
Lake Ariel, currently of Bagdad, Iraq, and his companion Barbara Feno, Lake
Ariel, Richard W. Krayer and his companion Kathryn Stanavitch, Scranton; six
grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Leona Longo, Alice August and
Loretta E. Fisher.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home
Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue, with Mass at 9:30 am in the Holy Name of Jesus Church,
on the corner of East Elm Street and Froude Avenue, East Mountain.
Interment will follow in Saint
Catherine’s Cemetery, Covington Township.
