Gladys I. Fox, 59, a longtime resident of Scranton died Friday morning at
home after a lengthy and courageous battle with diabetes and heart disease.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late James Donald and Carma
Helen Swingle Fox. She was a graduate of
Riverside High School class of 1969; she was a member of HSUS (Humane Society of
the United States) and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
Prior to her illness she had been
employed by Gress Poultry.
Anyone who knew her loved her; she was a very kindhearted and giving
person.
Surviving are her companion of twenty-five years Frank Krushinsky,
Scranton; four sisters, Karen J. Zindle, Scranton, Brenda Scherer, Carbondale,
Rose Ann Schafer, Moscow, Sharon Fox, Scranton; three brothers, John Robert Fox,
Moscow, Walter Thomas Fox, Scranton and William Fox, Scranton; nieces, nephews,
great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarella Fox, Regina Spangenberg;
three brothers, Donald James Fox, Leo Fox, Gerald Fox; two nephews, Scott A.
Zindle and William Zindle Jr.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral
Home, Inc., 436 Cedar Avenue with services by the Reverend Arthur W. Davis,
pastor of the Asbury United Methodist Church.
