
Romayne R. Miller

Romayne R. Miller, 92, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Saturday
night in the Mercy Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit after a brief illness.
She was the widow of Paul “Jake” Miller
who died September 8, 1994.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Philip C. and Caroline
Schneider Miller. She was educated
in Saint Mary of the Assumption School, a member of Saint John Neumann Parish, a
member of the former St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, and the altar and
rosary society.
She was lovingly referred to as the matriarch of the Miller clan.
Surviving are a son, John Miller and his wife Debbie, Scranton; two
daughters, Judith Wawrzynski and her husband Robert, Pinellas Park, FL, Mary
Jane Gilroy, Greenfield Township; sixteen grandchildren, twenty nine great
grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Reverend Paul E. Miller; three
sisters, Sister Albert Miller, SCC., Anna Miller, Marie Riedmiller; three
brothers, Peter Miller, Albert Miller and an infant Charles Miller.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the
Nativity of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard Street.
Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
