Frank Liptock

        Frank Liptock, 86, died Sunday evening in the Lackawanna Health and Rehabilitation Center where he was a resident since June of 2008.  He was a former resident of Scranton and Thonotosassa, FL, where he wintered with his wife the former Romaine Gannon.  They would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on July 12, 2011.

        He was born in Freeland, the son of the late Andrew and Mary Palko Liptock.  He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore, a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and the University of Scranton where he received an Associate’s degree in Business.  He was a veteran of WW II and the Korean War serving with the United States Navy.  He was active with the Student Council at the University of Scranton during his education.  He was a sales supervisor for Pepsi Cola Co. and retired from the H.E. Moore distributers.

        He was a musician and a talented saxophone player who enjoyed photography, traveling, playing pool and bowling.

        Also Surviving are a son, Bob Liptock and his wife Dr. gretchen Lawhon, Philadelphia; a daughter, Carol Warwick and her husband Steve, Perry, NY; a sister, Ceil Obester, Linden, NJ; a brother, Joseph Liptock and his wife Doris, Cape May, NJ; five grandchildren, Daniel Liptock, Ben Liptock, both of Philadelphia, Michael Warwick and his wife Lori, Attica, NY, Lorie Ames and her husband Roger, Perry, NY, Jill Berry and her husband Christopher, Lavonia, NY; four grandchildren, Kayla Warwick, Paige Warwick, Kelsey Ames and Austin Ames; twelve nieces and nephews.

        He was preceded in death by a brother, the Reverend Edward Liptock.

        Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in St. Mary's Of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut Street, Dunmore.  Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery, Throop.  Those attending the funeral Mass are asked to go directly to the church.

        Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 57 North Franklin Street, Wilkes Barre, PA   18701-1311.
