Robert H. Seumenicht, 70, a resident of Scranton, formerly of Virginia
Beach, VA, died Thursday morning in the Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Scranton, the son of the late Henry R. Seumenicht and the
late Sarah Gairens Fleming. He attended
Saint Ann’s Basilica and was a graduate of Saint Benedict Prep School, Newark,
NJ and attended the University of Maryland. He
was a veteran serving with the US Air Force, a member of the Studebaker Drivers
Club and the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Prior to retirement, he was owner and manager of the Twin Pines BP Amoco
Service Station, Portsmouth, VA, and Vice President of the Bank of Virginia.
Surviving are two stepsisters, Linda Cortazar, Scranton, Sister Margaret
Fleming SSJ, Philadelphia; an aunt, Virginia Thompson, Newton Ransom; cousins,
Virginia Erixson, Scranton, Roy Thompson, Newton Ransom, Suzanne Drumsta, Newton
Ransom, Diane Decicco, Newton Ransom; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a cousin, Sally Anglin.
A memorial mass will be celebrated in his memory on Saturday April 9,
2011 at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s Basilica, 1250 Saint Ann’s Street, Scranton, PA.
Interment will be private in the Abington
Hills Cemetery, South Abington Township.
